Sam Schwartz devised the Brooklyn-Queens Connector – a much-needed connection for city commuters
The Sam Schwartz team analyzed the feasibility of what would be the longest streetcar line in the US, running 17 miles along the Brooklyn and Queens waterfront. The project began with a thorough analysis to identify the best mode to serve this corridor. Once determined to be streetcar, project focus shifted to planning the most effective feasible alignment to spur and accommodate further residential and employment growth and connect residents to major hubs of technology and industry.
