Lighting plays a powerful role in shaping how communities feel, move, and connect after dark.
This year, the Local Center will support three local partners — Staten Island Urban Center, GrowHouse Design + Development Group, and Church-Flatbush Community Alliance — to illuminate streets, parks, and plaza in their neighborhoods..
Thoughtfully designed lighting can transform public spaces by increasing visibility, safety, and comfort. Paired with creative programming and storytelling, these lighting projects will celebrate local histories and shine new light on thriving commercial corridors.
These installations are made possible with funding from the NYC Department of Small Business Services.
