Study trips provide immersive experiences for practitioners, policy-makers, advocates, academics and participants from all backgrounds to learn from a city at multiple levels. Each study trip engages local and government leaders and introduces study trip delegates to innovative projects and policies Both cities share common challenges and investigate courageous policy, community organizing, and electoral or legislative advocacy that drives change. Delegates spend time at city halls, design and development offices, and in the field on site tours, on transit, and in the public realm. Lectures, tours, and exchanges are complemented by meals, visits to cultural sites, bike and boat rides, and neighborhood walks to see the city from many angles.
