Anil’s recent primary focus with Tishman Speyer has been the Redevelopment of Rockefeller Center. In his tenure at the center, work includes revisioning the rink and surrounding concourse areas, the new F&B offerings with premiere chefs and other retail offerings.

Austin Gelbard is responsible for development of Tishman Speyer’s new developments in Pittsburgh. Austin has worked in engineering, construction, and development and his experience spans institutional, residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties in both ground-up development and existing asset redevelopment.

Join us for a tour of the newly transformed Rockefeller Center with Tishman Speyer’s Anil Khachane and Austin Gelbard.

Rockefeller Center is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in New York City, with a world-famous plaza and prominent retailers, restaurants and office space. Over the past two years, Rockefeller Center has undergone renovations on the sunken plaza and underground shopping concourse to include increased public space. Independent restaurants and retail partners have been reintroduced to revamp the iconic center and create a hometown New York experience.

As the City weighs investing in the public realm to reactivate Midtown, what can we learn from Rockefeller Center’s approach to local retail and open space programming?

We will begin with a tour of the renovations with Anil Khachane, Senior Director of Design and Construction, and Austin Gelbard, Senior Director of Acquisitions and Development. We then invite you to join us at a casual reception following the tour to continue the conversation.
