Gloria Campbell is the Deputy Director of BQE Corridor Planning at DOT, where she has been leading the planning for BQE North and South. While there she’s led projects on the Curb Management Action Plan initiatives, and the NYC Streets Plan. Prior to DOT, she was a Senior Project Manager at the New York City Economic Development Corporation focused on transportation planning. Gloria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Saint Louis University and a Masters of Urban Planning form the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She is also currently a Public Policy Fellow as part of the Fulbright Program.
Danielle Zuckerman is the Senior Director of Government Affairs at the New York City Department of Transportation, where she focuses on elected official and stakeholder engagement citywide on DOT’s vast portfolio of projects and policy initiatives. Danielle coordinates with each of DOT’s divisions and external stakeholders to educate, problem-solve, and advance projects that promote safety, mobility, sustainability, accessibility, and equity throughout New York City. As DOT works to secure funds made available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Danielle oversees efforts to build external support for the agency’s federal grant applications. Danielle also helps lead the agency’s work to re-envision the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, from the Verrazzano Bridge to the Kosciuszko Bridge.
Join us for a breakfast roundtable on the vision for BQE North and South with Gloria Campbell and Danielle Zuckerman.
Last year, the New York City Department of Transportation received community input from over 2,600 stakeholders and advocates on ways to reimagine the public realm along the BQE Corridor. Together, they developed a shared vision for the transformation of the adjacent streetscapes to improve pedestrian safety, public space activation, and neighborhood connectivity.
Fellows will hear from NYC DOT’s Gloria Campbell, Deputy Director of BQE Corridor Planning, and Danielle Zuckerman, Senior Director of Government Affairs, who will share new design concepts for the BQE corridor.
How can we transform and repurpose transportation infrastructure to improve community health and cohesion?

About Public Works
Public Works is a discussion series to drive civic dialogue around new and forthcoming built environment projects in New York City. Throughout the year, we invite government officials and private sector leaders to present design and development initiatives that shape the public good. Our goal is to create an open and collegial venue for deeper conversation between the public sector and our network of civic leaders building, caring for, and maintaining our city.
Support Our Work
Public Works is made possible through the support of our Board of Directors, Director’s Circle, Company Members, and our Campaign for Courageous Leadership, and company and individual members. Our programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
