Big Swings for New York City Housing

Event Big Swings
March 14th, 2025
9:00am - 12:00pm
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center
208 W 13th St, New York, NY 10011, USA

Join the 2024-25 Global Exchange Fellows to explore “big swings” to address the housing crisis, inspired by cities across the world.

Over the last year, 48 leaders across design, development, policy, law, advocacy and journalism have been learning from global housing experts to surface cutting-edge projects and courageous public policy in peer cities. They will present case studies on deepening affordability, welcoming new arrivals, building buy-in, cutting red tape, and advancing green solutions — research gathered from Singapore, London, Montevideo, Toronto, and other global cities. In breakout sessions, Fellows will engage with Forum members to discuss how to activate bold solutions in New York City.

What can we learn from global cities taking “big swings” to confront their housing crises? How can we adapt similar solutions for New York City?
