Rachel Goodfriend is a mother and member of her East Flatbush, Brooklyn community where she co-organizes a Community Land Trust alongside her neighbors. For the past decade, Rachel has worked as a financial expert and trainer for community development at Ametrine Group, a national affordable, supportive housing and community development firm. She is known for creating financial models and securing funding for numerous community developments. Rachel earned her BA in Urban Design and Architecture as well as Journalism with a minor in Spanish from NYU College of Arts and Science in 2014. Her housing research focuses on the social aspects of urban housing policy and design in NYC, Accra, and Abu Dhabi. At Ametrine Group, Rachel specializes in visioning and concretizing beautiful community spaces through creative thinking and feasible underwriting. Her current work includes the development of deeply affordable housing and public green space in Poughkeepsie; planning for a supportive housing, acupuncture, and wellness center; and feasibility planning for a needed birthing center in Brooklyn.
