Nicole is an architect and advocate for affordable housing. As a founding principal of Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects, Nicole was instrumental in designing affordable homes for over 3,500 families, seniors, and formerly unhoused New Yorkers. In her current role as the consulting Director of Capital Projects at the Public Housing Community Fund, she facilitates public-private partnerships to enhance NYCHA’s open spaces, expanding on her work as a Policy and Planning fellow for the Design Trust for Public Space where she co-created the recently launched Imagine-to-Activate toolkit.
Beyond her professional work, Nicole is committed to advancing the field of architecture through service and education. She volunteers with AIANY’s Housing Committee, nycoba NOMA, and ARCscholars, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the New York City College of Technology and the Cooper Union.
