Jen Shin
WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities
Global Lead of the Prize for Cities
Jen Shin is the Global Lead of the Prize for Cities at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. Through this initiative, Jen leads a global platform that elevates holistic solutions to tough urban problems and advances urban action among city leaders, practitioners, and researchers worldwide. Before joining WRI, Jen held positions in architecture and urban research, contributing to urban synthesis reports and helping deliver public libraries, community parks, housing, and green infrastructure projects across NYC and the East Coast. She teaches in design and sustainability at various institutions. Her experience has informed a simple belief: that public realm, streets, and transit are not just infrastructure, but the foundation for healthier, more connected, and more equitable communities. Jen looks forward to collaborating with a diverse cohort of New Yorkers to examine how transportation, public space, and civic partnerships can create a more equitable and connected city for all.
