Betsy Daniel, AIA, LEED GA, is an urban designer with more than ten years of experience dedicated to advancing inclusive, environmentally equitable, and sustainable futures for our cities. In her role as Assistant Vice President (Urban Design) at NYCEDC’s Neighborhood Strategies Department, she helps lead on major planning and design projects such as SPARC Kips Bay and the Brooklyn Marine Terminal redevelopment. Her prior tenure at HOK New York involved working on zoning, campus, and district design projects both within the United States and abroad, as well as contributing to research exploring New York City’s prospects in 2100 amidst rising sea levels and population growth. Betsy has also served as a 2018 Engage Community Design Fellow and a Hudson Valley Initiative research scholar. Betsy holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University.
