Eugenia Di Girolamo is the Chief Urban Designer for the City and County of Denver, Colorado. She is the first person to hold the office. As the City's top urban design officer, Eugenia is tasked with centering cohesive design across the City's planning and development initiatives. Before her move to Denver, Eugenia worked as a Senior Urban Designer at the New York City Department of City Planning. At NYC Planning, her work focused on climate resilience as it relates to neighborhood planning, exploring the impact of land use policy on the resilience of coastal communities and their adaptation to climate risks. Eugenia has also led community planning initiatives to identify opportunities for neighborhood revitalization through transit-oriented development. Previously, Eugenia was an urban planner and designer at WXY, and taught studio courses at Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
