Purnima Kapur is the Chief of University Planning and Design at Harvard University. In this role she oversees all planning, design and regulatory approvals across all of Harvard’s real estate holdings. Previously, she was the Executive Director of New York City Department of City Planning. Under the Mayor deBlasio’s Housing New York Plan, Purnima spearheaded the Department’s coordinated, ground-up neighborhood planning studies and regulatory changes to promote more economically diverse communities and housing opportunities for New Yorkers at all income levels. Purnima holds a B.Arch from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and a Master’s of City Planning and Architecture Studies and a Master’s in Science of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
