David Briggs

Dave is an architect who started his own firm in 1993 and founded Loci Architecture in 1998. His firm has completed a wide range of projects, including master plans, feasibility studies, new construction, exterior restorations, building renovations, and interior designs in various sectors such as academic, cultural, residential, and commercial. In addition to his architectural work, Dave has a strong interest in urban planning and community activism. He is the Executive Director of Gowanus by Design, a non-profit organization that focuses on long-term urban design strategies in the Gowanus Canal area of Brooklyn. He also co-chairs the Land Use Committee of Brooklyn Community Board 6 and is a member of the Executive Committee, broadening his interests in community engagement. Dave's educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he also pursued a Minor in Studio Arts. He is a LEED-accredited professional and a Certified Passive House Designer. In his spare time he can be found in his painting studio or playing soccer.
