Global Street Design Guide

Ankita Chachra and Skye Duncan were on the GDCI Core Project Team for the Global Street Design Guide setting “a new global baseline for designing streets.”

“Streets are catalysts for urban transformation. The Global Street Design Guide presents techniques and strategies currently being pioneered by the world’s foremost urban designers and engineers.

The guide is based on the principle that streets are public spaces for people as well as corridors for movement, marking a shift away from a functional classification of streets categorized only according to their ability to move traf c and provide vehicular access. Instead, it embraces an approach based on local context, the needs of multiple users, and larger social, economic, and environmental goals.” – Global Street Design Guide
